Chongqing Update...

We met with Frederick this afternoon and he gave us an itinerary, so we thought that we'd share it with you...

Monday - meet at 9:30 to fill out paperwork at the hotel, at 4:00 GO TO THE REGISTRATION OFFICE TO RECEIVE THE BABY AND COMPLETE PAPERWORK!!!!
Tuesday - At 2:30 visit the Panda zoo and go to Walmart
Wednesday - At 2:30 tour the People's Great Hall and the Three Gorges Museum
Thursday - At 9:00am visit the Ancient Town of Ciqikou. Receive and check notary paperwork in the afternoon.
Friday - Pack Luggage. Receive babies' passports and leave for Guangzhou!

We were all dissappointed that we weren't going to get our babies tonight or Monday morning:( But we found out the reason! Tonight is the Moon Festival!!! All families spend time with each other and have moon cakes b/c it is a "special" full moon. If you'd like to know more you can try to visit this link (i hope it works): http://chineseculture.about.com/library/weekly/aa093097.htm

Frederick brought us moon cakes too:) Brayden was the only one that ate it all!!! go figure :)?:)?:)?

This evening half of the group went to Chinese food and the other half went to McDonalds - i bet you can guess who went to McD's!!!

So glad to hear that you made it to Chongqing and that everything is going OK. We're waiting for the baby pictures!

Sounds like you had a great time in Beijing except for the food.

There is a Macdonalds, KFC and pizza restaurant within a couple of blocks of the Marriott.;) Eat lots of breakfast at the buffet to hold you over. The pastries aren't usually too bad. Watch out for hot pot. It's quite an experience!

I saw that you are going to a different city than we did. We went to Dazu. I'll be interested in knowing about this place.

Tell Kelli Hi!

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help from here!

For His Children,
Kathy

Just wanted you to know that we prayed for all of you in church this morning. Everyone is so excited to have you home with your daughter/sister.

We are getting together this week to plan for the open house on the 15th. We have the church reserved for early afternoon that day. Hope that will work with Hayleigh's nap time. We will wait to send invitations when you return.

Love to all.

You are getting close, maybe by the time you read this Hayleigh will be with you!

Kirsten, as one adoptive mom to another, I know you will treasure every minute of this amazing experience. While the anticipation can be as powerful as waiting for a baby you carried yourself, there is something mystical about accepting one that came to you by the miracle of adoption. So many babies out there, so many circumstances, so many other people in control (?!) of the various situations, yet Hayleigh was picked just for you.

I like to think that this is how Jesus views adopting us once we come to him. Imagine, his ancitipation is this powerful for every single one of us! Amazing...

We have really enjoyed your McDonalds experiences, I'm sure if we were in your shoes, "Will the adventureous" would have us all trying any number of mysterious foods, while the boys and I would be pining for McD. On a trip to Spain in graduate school, his hosts offered all kinds of scary foods, trying to get him to act like a tourist, and the only thing he turned down was barely cooked squid! He is much braver than I.

I've got to tell you that your trip became "real" to Wesley tonight when he saw Brayden in the pictures! I guess a picture is truly worth 1000 words...

Blessings to all of you, and we can hardly wait for your message that says you have held her in your arms.

Michelle, Will, Cameron and Wesley
