Now What? Well...

Now we sign the acceptance letter (as soon as it gets here) and we wait for Travel Approval. Then we will get a Consulate Appointment which will determine when we go.

In the mean time, we will get a translated copy of all the information about Hayleigh (maybe Tuesday), we will apply for our Visa's, shop, pack, shop & pack.

We will also send Hayleigh a package with goodies in it for her:)

God Bless!

God has blessed us with a baby girl!!!!

I received the call at 12:30 while I was lounging poolside at my mom's house with Renee (a dear and longtime friend).

Here's the scoop!

Her name is You Fu Kai (You is her surname of the city she is from and Fu Kai means Happiness and triumph)

She is from the city of YouYang in the Chongqing Province. YouYang is 9 hours from the capital of Chongqing in Chongqing. And we will be staying in the capital and will not be able to see the orphanage.

She was born and abandoned on December 8, 2004. As of June 15th, she weighs 15.5 lbs., 23 3/4 in.. The medical reports say that she is healthy!! She lives in the orphanage and is a moderate sleeper, sucks her fingers/thumb, can roll but not crawl, is quiet, loves music and is close to her caregiver.

Thank you for your prayers!!

Chinese Class

We had our 2nd chinese class last night. We learned dzai zhen (good-bye), bu yo xie (you're welcome) and ye, ar, san, si, wu, liu, qi, ba, jiu, shi (counting to 10). We had so much fun - the boys did a great job writing the chinese characters and had the teacher write their name in chinese - very cool!

Ni Hao!!

That's "Hello" in Chinese. The Richland Library is offering a free class for children (and their tag along parents) for the next 3 Mondays teaching us a little Chinese. She taught us the correct pronunciation for Ni Hao (hello) and Xie Xie (thank you). We have already been working on a few words but it's fun learning them from our Chinese Instructor. I will post some pictures next week:)

Zai jian - Good bye

Hayleigh's Room

Hurray!! We are excited to post pictures of Hayleigh's room. The boys helped me put together the crib last night. We have a crib and a twin bed because she may need some company sleeping in her room for awhile and it's nice to have an extra bed for reading, sleepovers etc...

Lily's Picnic

Today we had the rare opportunity to meet our "China Connection" for all of our adoption paperwork and guide in China - today! Lily has developed a good friendship with Kathy (our agency director) and is visiting Washington with her son. The agency had a picnic to meet and greet her. It was fun to meet her and to get to know ALOT of other families that have adopted through Kathy. Can you believe that I forgot to use my camera - I guess we were just having to much fun!!! Bummer:(

We hope to have some good news posted soon - so check back often!:)

God Bless!

Rumor-ville...

We are anxiously but patiently waiting to get word from our agency about who Hayleigh is!! In the mean time, I've been checking out the "yahoo group" to see what others around the world know. This is a group that all have late Dec. LID (Log In Dates) - there is a very good possibility that we could meet up in China:) Anyway, the rumor this week is that referrals might show up between July 20th and July 25th - sooooo..... we'll just have to see!

Matching Room!

Our Dossier should be in the matching room in China. I just found a neat website with pictures of the process. It is very interesting and fun to see what might be going on and how they match... You can visit:

I will try to set up a link later when I have more time...
